Local Outreach
Mount Pisgah Local Outreach Ministry puts hands and feet on what it means to Love God, Love People. As we come near to God, He comes near to us and burdens our hearts for those who need to be reminded that God cares.
The mission of Local Outreach at Mount Pisgah is to remind those in need, through tangible and spiritual support, that God cares for them. Whether serving the homeless or joining in the fight against child sex trafficking, providing a handmade blanket for a Veteran or visiting a senior in a Nursing Home, we are following the example of Jesus as He took up the towel to serve.
Whenever we mentor a child or participate in an Easter Egg Hunt at a nearby apartment community, we answer the call to put others ahead of ourselves. When we join in worship with inmates at a local prison facility, we put a face on the God who loves unconditionally and forgives each one who repents.
The Gospel takes flight on the wings of service, and our prayer is that all who join with us in service will soar.
This Month in Outreach
Hillside Elementary School Partnership
Statistics show that children who are reading on grade level at an early age have a much greater chance of graduating. Today public schools in Fulton County are embracing partnerships with the faith community as a way to improve education and help students succeed. Because churches are a valuable resource, Mount Pisgah is piloting an Adopt-a-School program with Hillside Elementary. In March we offered the opportunity for Mount Pisgah members to adopt a Hillside teacher or staff member to pray for over a period of two months.
On May 2, we will provide desserts and cards of support for all of the Hillside staff as part of Teacher Appreciation. In the coming months, look for ways to become involved in our school partnership - a worthwhile effort to improve the lives of children and have a kingdom impact.
